Small Beginnings

Hello reader. I hope I find you well. Welcome to my page which I’m excited, albeit nervous, to launch. You see, I’ve been postponing this blog for a while now due to the fear that I’m not prepared. I’m a bit of a perfectionist and am continuously overthinking matters which keeps me stuck. That’s not okay. I have to constantly remind myself the whole purpose of this website is to document my journey as a writer. As time progresses, my skills will sharpen, but the important thing I’ll be able to see is movement. So I’ll start today, and I’m reminded of Bible verse Zechariah 4:10, “Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin.”

            Now, this blog will cover a variety of topics, sometimes relating to mystery and sometimes not. I’m still finding my niche, even within the mystery genre. I’ve learned so much over the last couple of years from when I decided to start taking writing seriously. I’ve been privileged to be mentored by brilliant and encouraging mystery authors, attend a writing convention, and meet multiple like-minded individuals who also desire to share out what their imaginations have concocted. I find myself leaning towards cozies currently, but who knows? I may venture to noir or whodunnits one of these fine days. Also, the idea of blending other genres with mystery like romance or comedy excites me! There’s so much potential, but it has to be released. So here I go…
